Sri Lanka Customs has granted Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) Tier-I status to 31 companies, allowing them to benefit from expedited goods clearance with reduced documentation.
The companies received this status during a ceremony held on July 30, 2024, officiated by State Minister of Finance, Hon. Ranjith Siyambalapitiya.
Companies granted this status are eligible for enhanced trade facilitation measures, such as rapid release of goods, reduced documentation, and fewer physical inspections, aiding in smoother cross-border trade.
To attain AEO status, operators must satisfy the eligibility criteria established by Sri Lanka Customs, including demonstrating high levels of legal and operational compliance and maintaining strong supply chain security.
The event was organized by Sri Lanka Customs along with the United States Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Partnership for Accelerating Results in Trade, National Expenditure and Revenue (PARTNER) Activity.
